Fast-growing wireless power company expands U.S. presence and adds new VP of Product Management
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — PowerbyProxi, (www.powerbyproxi.com) developer of the world’s most advanced and safest wireless power systems, today announced it is expanding its global presence with the opening of a new office and U.S headquarters in Austin, Texas. The office has been established by recently appointed Vice President of Product Management, Robert McCormick, who joins PowerbyProxi from Intel and has over 20 years of experience in sales, product marketing and business development.
“We are expanding our U.S. footprint to manage, promote and deliver on the increasing number of projects from our customers,” said Greg Cross, Executive Chairman and CEO of PowerbyProxi. “Austin is the ideal location for access to great tech talent—from engineering to program management and operations—as we continue to build out our team and innovate in the wireless power space,” said Cross.
McCormick brings invaluable experience in the semiconductor industry having held senior roles at Intel, Motorola and Freescale. Since joining PowerbyProxi earlier this summer, he has been instrumental in the release of PowerbyProxi’s newest evaluation kit for consumer electronic devices, the Proxi-2D EVK-1.
The new location will enable PowerbyProxi to be closer to its customer base and address the need for increased responsiveness to customers requesting access to PowerbyProxi’s extensive wireless power transfer portfolio.
“Our team in Austin will be focused on expanding PowerbyProxi’s technical customer interface as well as pursuing further product implementation and commercialization. I’m thrilled to join PowerbyProxi at this stage in the company’s growth and help to drive product strategy while leading the expansion here in Austin,” said McCormick.
