If you’re a manufacturing person, that siren and flashing light means the system is down and the clock is ticking to get back on line. Every minute costs valuable time, and as they say, time is money.  Most companies today have launched some type of preventative maintenance program with the vision to avoid downtime by taking care of potential failures before they happen.  However, in many industries, electrical connectors or cables drive downtime.  There is reluctance to change a connector prematurely, so there goes the flashing light as corrosion on a connector or a bent pin or a damaged cable has just taken down your production line. What to do?
