Greg Cross

Chief Executive Officer

Greg co-founded PowerbyProxi, Ltd. in 2007 and serves as its Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. He is an experienced serial entrepreneur with an outstanding track record in building technology companies in Asia Pacific and North America.

He has 25 years experience in the technology industry working in North America, Europe and Asia. He currently serves as Independent Chairman at SLI Systems Limited He is also Vice Chair of the Meteorological Service of New Zealand, an independent director of Fronde Systems Goup, and Chair of Cross Ventures. He is a former CEO of Advantage Group and Microsoft, New Zealand.

Fady Mishriki

Co-Founder, EVP and Chief Tesla Officer

Fady is Co-Founder, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Tesla Officer of PowerbyProxi. After studying wireless power systems through his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic), he became the catalyst for the creation of PowerbyProxi and provided the initial drive for the commercialization of new wireless power technology that was being developed at The University of Auckland.

Fady continues to lead the charge to give PowerbyProxi’s customers ‘the power to unplug’ and spends his time between the United States (where the company’s commercial headquarters are located in San Jose) and the home of wireless power – Auckland, New Zealand (where the companies engineering center is located).

With experience in designing and delivering thousands of real-world customer applications of wireless power, Fady is also one of the world’s leading specialists in the deployment of wireless power systems in the most difficult and demanding environments. He has an intimate knowledge of wireless power architecture, applications and solutions.

David Terkosky

VP of Business Development - Industrial Technologies

David is an experienced senior executive with track record in the introduction of new technology in the US industrial marketplace. He is highly experienced in process automation and control environments across a broad range of industries.

David’s previous leadership roles include Vice President of Business Development at Ellison Group, Vice President of Marketing at Entek, and Director of Business Development at Honeywell.

Tony Francesca

VP of Business Development - Consumer Technologies

With over 30 years of global experience, Mr. Francesca has broad and deep domain knowledge in IP licensing, semiconductor, software, and systems solutions for mobile, wireless, broadband, and storage addressing Consumer Electronics, service operators, and enterprise markets.  He is currently VP of Business Development at PowerbyProxi and Chairman of the Specification for Resonant Wireless Power at WPC.   With P&L accountability, Mr. Francesca was responsible for revenues up to US$250M and managing teams throughout Asia, Europe, NA and SA. As a leader in business development, he created demand, negotiated, and closed multi-million dollar licensing deals and sales with Tier 1 OEM/ODMs, strategic partners, distribution, and retail.  He also led marketing and product management teams generating up to US$3.5B in revenues. Mr. Francesca’s prior roles at public companies included VP of Corporate & Business Development as well as VP&GM of Set-Top Box BU at Trident Microsystems, VP&GM of Consumer Electronics BU at Quantum, VP of OEM BU at USRobotics, and Sr. Director at AT&T Paradyne.  At private equity start-ups he was CEO of BroadLogic, COO of HelloSoft, and SVP at Tantivy. In financial transactions, Mr. Francesca led or was part of a team that raised US$82M in private financing, made private equity investments, and completed US$7B in M&As.  He earned a BSEE (Honors) and an MBA in addition to being recognized as an inventor with 3 patents issued.

Michael Eckert

VP Engineering

Michael is VP Engineering at PowerbyProxi and has over 18 years experience running complex engineering development efforts in multiple locations across the globe including the U.S, France and The Netherlands.  Michael has comprehensive experience in the development and integration of semiconductors, wireless systems and end products.   Michael previously led Motorola’s Silicon Technology development as Senior Director of Engineering where he was instrumental in the development and commercialization of Motorola’s mobile WiMAX and later its LTE chipset solutions.

Kate Parsons

CFO

Kate brings over 19 years of finance experience to the Chief Financial Officer role at PowerbyProxi having worked with numerous companies worldwide including PwC, Barclays Capital, TPF Group and more recently at Endace Ltd.  Kate became CFO at Endace in 2011 and oversaw the sale to Emulex Corp as part of the largest tech deal in NZ’s history.

Robert McCormick

VP Product Management

Robert is Vice President of Product Management and joins PowerbyProxi with an extensive background of sales, product marketing and business development roles in the semiconductor industry.  During Robert’s career he has initiated multiple new product promotions, including most recently a successful effort to incorporate Motorola’s cellular modems into modules for use by various industry OEM’s / ODM’s.  His business experience has given him varied exposure to consumer, medical, automotive and industrial markets with a network of global corporate relationships.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and currently resides in Austin, TX, USA.

Kunal Bhargava

Engineering Development Director

Kunal has extensive experience in manufacturing process design and was involved in the initial commercial realization and application of Dr Hu’s work. Prior to joining PowerbyProxi, he worked at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare as a Product Development Engineer for almost 4 years. During this time he managed design projects and negotiated production contracts. Kunal holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Embedded Systems) from The University of Auckland.

Dr. Patrick Hu

Head of Research

Patrick is a highly experienced power electronics engineer and researcher with over 70 publications and 6 patents to his name. He has had almost 20 years experience in power electronics and power systems. He is the lead inventor and technology architect of the second generation inductive power transfer technology (dynamic detuning) that Powerbyproxi uses. Patrick holds a PhD (Auckland), Masters and Bachelor’s degree’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests include both fundamental research and practical application in a variety of areas including resonant converters (modeling and control of switch mode nonlinear circuits, high frequency power generation, magnetic coupling, power conditioning,) wireless power supplies coupled with wireless communication systems, electronic control of power systems and distributed power systems.
